Google Classroom

I'm excited to use Google Classroom in social studies class this year!  Mrs. Foellmer shared this excellent online educational tool with teachers in August, and I'm happy to see the many ways in which it will benefit student learning and organization.  We spent class time last week setting each student up in a Social Studies Google Classroom (custom to 6th Grade Social Studies at Lakeview), looking at features, and practicing using Google Classroom.  Parents, I encourage you to have your sons and daughters share their log in information with you, and have them "show" you around the classroom.  I plan on presenting Google Classroom and sharing how we're using it in class during Curriculum Night on Sept. 16 as well!  Google Classroom will be a place where students have access to supplemental materials, deadlines, assignments, and are even able to turn some of the assignments in electronically!  This is a new tool, so I'm looking forward to exploring, learning, and experiencing Google Classroom together with the students!
